Born in Lamar, Vic grew up playing music with his dad in the southeastern area of Colorado.  As a teen, he was part of the Ark Valley Wranglers. Vic began hanging out at the local radio station, and soon was a regular on the air.  He had a passion for the great talents of Chet Atkins, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Snow, Hank Thompson, and many other pioneers of country music.

After serving in the army, Vic located to Akron Ohio.  A short time later, he went to work for the ministry of Rex Humbard, playing guitar both at the Cathedral of Tomorrow, and on the road when Rex would travel.  Those years would take him literally around the world.

During his time at the Cathedral of Tomorrow, Vic began honing his production skills. He traveled with The Weatherford's, and later, with the Cathedral Quartet.  Learning studio skills was a natural 'next step' for Vic, and he began producing albums for the Cathedrals.  Just two of the many classics that came from their collaboration are "Wedding Music" & "Romans 8:28".   Their great success brought many more opportunities for Vic to utilize his talents.  During his years in Akron, he worked with not only The Humbard Singers, The Weatherford's, and TheCathedral Quartet, but also the likes of Stuart Hamblin, andMahalia Jackson.

After leaving the Cathedral, Vic relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he became a partner in the well known Artist's Recording.  Many of southern Gospel's great recordings came out of that era, and Vic contributed by producing songs for J.D. Sumner & The Stamps, Teddy Huffim, The Florida Boys, The Cathedrals, The Hoppers,  and countless others.  Over the years he has earned many Dove Award nominations for his production work.

In 1985, Vic decided it was time to move to Nashville.  He was warmly welcomed as a studio musician & producer, and began utilizing the amazing talent pool of musicians who make Nashville their home.

After becoming a widower in 1990, Vic met Toni Jolene Holcomb, and the two were married in 1993. She is also a veteran in the music business.  Their collaborative efforts earned them both Dove Award nominations for producing two "Album of the Year" contenders working with the legendary George YounceThey produced three solo projects for George. "I Believe" "That Says It All" and the classic hymn project, "Day By Day".

Vic and Toni own two music publishing companies (Yours For A Song Music-BMI, and The Potter's Clay Publishing-ascap).Their production work, and publishing are all under the umbrella of The Potter's Clay Music Group. To serve the needs of their publishing companies and their clients, they have a small production studio,The Potter's Kiln.

Vic continues to produce and play great music.  "It's a blessed life, doing what you enjoy doing. It really means you don't ever have to feel the drudgery of going to work on something you hate. And I've always enjoyed what I do. Like I said, it's a blessed life!"
